🏁 Event: Pokémon Race (Race PRO)

Pokemon Race Banner

Welcome to the Pokémon circuit of Oroza RO! In this event, you can bet Zeny on your favorite Pokémon and watch an automatic race where market odds, weather, stamina, and random race events all play a role. Analyze carefully before betting, choose your racer, and claim your prize if it finishes in first place.

🎟️ How to Participate
  • When the event is announced globally, use @joinevent to travel to the race track.
  • Talk to the Bet Manager NPC to buy your ticket.
  • You can only have 1 active ticket per race.
  • You must choose a Pokémon racer and the amount of Zeny you want to bet.
  • If the race has already started or registrations are closed, you will no longer be able to place a bet.
⏳ Frequency and Timers

The event starts automatically approximately every 4 to 6 hours.

After server restarts or initial activations, the first race may take approximately 1 to 2 hours to appear.

Once a new race is announced, players have around 6 minutes to enter, check the market, and place their bet before registrations close.

💰 Betting Amounts

Bet amounts are not free-form. You must choose one of the available amounts from the NPC:

  • 100,000 Zeny
  • 500,000 Zeny
  • 1,000,000 Zeny
  • 5,000,000 Zeny
  • 10,000,000 Zeny
  • 25,000,000 Zeny

Important: for bets of 10M or more, you cannot risk more than 50% of your current Zeny. This safety measure exists to prevent accidental heavy losses.

📈 Dynamic Market and Odds

Your payout is not fixed. It works through a dynamic market system:

  • Odds change in real time based on all players' bets.
  • If many players bet on the same Pokémon, its odds go down and it pays less.
  • If fewer players bet on a Pokémon, its odds may go up and pay more.
  • The odds shown when buying your ticket are estimated. Final odds are set once betting closes.
  • The system retains 15% from the market calculation to help balance the economy.
  • Final odds may vary approximately between x1.10 and x3.00.

⛈️ Weather System and Racers

The race is not based only on luck. Each Pokémon has base stamina, and the race weather can improve or reduce its performance. Before betting, always check the Weather through the Market and Weather option in the NPC.

Current Weather Benefited Pokémon Affected Pokémon
☀️ Clear Sky Pikachu receives a major boost. Eevee receives a small boost. None
🌧️ Heavy Rain Squirtle receives a major boost. Charmander receives a major penalty.
🔥 Sunny Day Charmander receives a major boost. Bulbasaur receives a medium boost. Squirtle receives a major penalty.
🌪️ Magic Wind Togepi receives a major boost. Eevee receives a high boost. Pikachu receives a small penalty.

🐾 Competitors

Each race has 6 Pokémon competitors. Some are more stable and usually pay less, while others are riskier and may pay better if they win.

Pokémon General Profile
Bulbasaur Balanced racer. Can improve significantly during Sunny Day.
Charmander Riskier racer. May pay better, but performs poorly under Heavy Rain.
Squirtle Stable racer. Very strong under Heavy Rain, but weak during Sunny Day.
Pikachu Balanced racer. Stands out especially during Clear Sky.

🥇 Top Winners

The NPC also has a Top Winners option, where you can see the players who have won the most Zeny in the Pokémon Race.

⚠️ Cancellations and Refunds
  • If there are no players present when the race is about to start, the event is canceled.
  • If an active race is canceled by a GM before it ends, active bets are saved as refunds.
  • If you have a pending refund, the NPC will deliver it when you talk to him.
  • If claiming a prize or refund would exceed your character's Zeny limit, you must store some Zeny and talk to the NPC again.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much time do I have to claim if I win?
You have exactly 15 minutes after the race ends to talk to the Bet Manager NPC and claim your prize. If you do not claim it in time, your ticket expires and you lose the prize.
Why did the odds change after I bought my ticket?
Because odds are dynamic. If other players bet on the same Pokémon after you, the payout may go down. If they bet on other racers, your odds may go up. Final odds are set once registrations close.
Are the odds shown when betting final?
No. The odds shown when buying your ticket are only an estimate. The final odds are calculated when betting closes and the race begins.
Can I have more than one bet in the same race?
No. You can only have 1 active ticket per race.
Can I bet all my Zeny?
For smaller bets, you can bet as long as you have enough Zeny. However, for bets of 10M or more, you cannot risk more than 50% of your current Zeny.
Can two Pokémon tie?
Yes. The system has a Photo Finish feature. If two or more Pokémon cross the finish line at the same time, the system chooses the final winner among the tied racers.
Does the favorite always win?
No. The favorite may have better stability or higher stamina, but weather, stamina, boosts, trips, and random race factors can all affect the result.
Can the race start during WoE or other events?
Usually no. If another event is active or WoE is currently running, the Pokémon Race waits before trying to start again.
